Fourteen Years of Building Around First Nations

Protect. Prepare. Recover. Participate.

A platform built around community success

The system should begin by understanding the community.

Fourteen years ago, this began with a simple belief. First Nations should not have to adapt to systems that were never designed for them.

Yet the systems supporting insurance, risk management, recovery, financing and economic participation were not designed with those realities in mind.

Aboriginal Insurance Services was founded in 2012 to help change that.

What began as an Indigenous-focused insurance organisation has grown into one of Canada's most comprehensive Indigenous-led platforms — protection, preparedness, recovery, community capacity, Specific Claims and economic participation.

The platform did not expand because of a business plan. It expanded because First Nations communities repeatedly identified challenges that required practical solutions.

This is not four companies offering four unrelated services. It is one community seeing a more complete picture.
